Council for Teaching
Filipino Language and Culture
Mission Statement
The Council for Teaching Filipino Language and Culture (CTFLC), based in San Diego, California is a professional organization that works towards the advancement of the Filipino language and culture programs globally, especially in places where there is a heavy concentration of Filipino nationals.
CTFLC has gone a long way since its inception. Among our achievements, we are a part of the team that successfully lobbied legislators and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) to develop a CSET Exam in Filipino, in order to certify future teachers of Filipino in public schools. Professionalism, love, passion, commitment and dedication to the students and the community, coupled by the determination to succeed in every undertaking and adhering to its educational mission, have been the guiding principles of the organization.
